In Japan Dai Nippon and Sony PCL have succeded in creating a new type of printed hologram. This new type of printed hologram surpasses the ones which can currently can be seen on things such as credit cards, trading cards, and magazines because they can create the look of smooth video. The technique which creates these holograms is referred to as the Lippmann technique. It uses two laser to store a maximum of 100 images on a layer of polymer.
