Takara/Tomy has created the world’s smallest commercially produced humanoid robot, and with a Guinness World Records certification nonetheless . It stands 16.5 cm tall and weighs 350 grams. His body contains 17 servos, 1 speaker and 18 cpus. One of which is dedicated to voice recognition. The i-sobot is can perform pre-programmed actions or be controlled by a with a rectangular remote control. The videos below shows the many capabilities of a pre-production version of the i-sobot. Watch and you’ll see him walk and balance on leg, wave his arms, and do push-ups, along with many other things. As seen in the video he is quite an amusing little guy. It is priced at about $350 USD. It will be available in the US in October of 2007. Later in 2007 an optional head mounted camera and LAN capability can be added for an additional $70 dollars.
