It is good to see another PC manufacturer creating a computer with a very compact form factor.
Sony announced that it will soon be bringing its Vaio HD LT PC/TV to the market.
This all-in-one PC has all its system components built into a slim frame that is attached to the screen - in a design somewhat similar to the Apple iMac - with the emphasis being on minimizing its size.
The screen itself is a 22-inch LCD with WSXGA+ resolution and has the floating glass look that Sony’s flat panel TVs are known for.
Even though it is compact in size the features have not been compromised. The Vaio HD LT can be equipped with a Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a minimum of 2 GB RAM, a large hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi capability and Windows Vista Ultimate.
It also comes with a built-in 1.3 mega-pixel webcam, microphone, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a high definition-capable tuner for watching television. A premium model will include a Blu-Ray writer.
The Sony Vaio HD LT will come to the market in October. The standard model will have a starting price of $1900, and the Blu-Ray equipped model will have a starting price of $2900 .
