This new portable hard disk drive, I-O Data’s HDMC has really got my attention. It can hold alot of data because it has a capacity of 16GB, its small and it seems to be very capable of surviving any abuse that normal life can through at it - and then some.
One design feature that the HDMC has that allows this is the fact that its water-proof. In the video below it is dropped to the bottom of a very large aquarium and then taken out and plugged into a laptop and works without a problem.
Another cool feature of the drive is its resistance to shock. In the video the HDMC is placed in a glass of water and frozen. Then glass is then smashed almost completely to bits and the HDMC appears to have no damage.
I will definitely be looking out for more info on I-O Data 16GB HDMC hard disk drive and will pass it on when it becomes available. Check out the video below.
