Fashion designers are known to look to many different sources for inspiration when coming up with their designs. And sometimes these designers draw from pop culture to add something new to their designs.

This was clearly the case in the Giles Deacon’s Spring/Summer 2009 show. During his show Giles Deacon had his models strut down the runaway in costumes that were clearly inspired by the 1980 video game Pac-Man. His models wore headgear and dresses with prints that represented the characters of the popular video game.

I’m not really into fashion, besides admiring beautiful models walking down the runaway, I don’t really follow it. But because of the uniqueness of his show it I think that what Giles Deacon did is really cool.

I wonder if in 20 years someone will do clothing based on the Mario Brothers video games or even the Metal Gear series?
