LG has devloped a LCD monitor which can display images at a rate of 480 per second or 480hz. This is twice the amount of the highest LCD displays on the market which max out at 240Hz.
LG’s 480Hz Trumotion technology allows for crystal clear high speed movement without the motion blur that usually occurs. This is achieved through the combination of LG’s scanning backlight technology (which allows the backlight to be repeatedly turned on and off) and their 240Hz technology.
The display also features a 4ms response time, darker blacks and brighter whites for a vivid picture.
Energy consumption is reduced thanks to the set’s ability to adjust the backlight’s brightness levels.
LG’s Trumotion display will be shown at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show(CES). And it is expected to be on the market during the second half of 2009.
