Samsung continues to wow and amaze. They again show themselves to be the pioneers in LCD technology. This time they have created a LCD television that is only 6.5mm thick.
This prototype is on display at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. It is thinner than the previous champ, Pioneer’s Advanced Design Concept prototype (9mms thick) by 2.5mm. The only trade off for this thickness - or thinness - is that it lacks a built-in tuner. Its design can’t support an internal one, but an external tuner is provided.
Unfortunately other details such as a market release date were scarce. But my guess is this television will be on the market within three years - which gives you plenty of time to start saving.
