Natural disasters such as earthquakes are common in Japan. And its easy to imagine the difficulties that emergency response services may have getting victims out of a disaster area, with the hazards such unsafe building structures and debris being among them.
To help in search and rescue scenarios such as these the rescue robot was created.
The robot is remotely controlled by a single operator. When a person is found the robot extends a conveyor-belt from within its main section. The person is placed on the conveyor belt and moved into the main section of the robot.
