
Earlier this week Sony officially announced a new revised version of their Playstation 3 game console which is both slimmer and cheaper. In a move that did not surprise anybody Sony finally announced this week that the 40GB version of its Playstation 3 was coming to the US. It will be released November 2, include the Spider-man 3 movie on Blu-Ray disc and be priced at $399.
Of special note is the fact that it is not backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games. It does however include the Blu-ray drive, a HDMI output, a Cell Broadband Engine, two USB ports, and a integrated Wi-Fi connection.
Sony also reduced the price of the 80 GB version of the PS3 by $100 and it will now cost $499. This is great news and hopefully they will make the white version of the game console available to US customers as well.
