I haven’t seen the first transformers film but from what I’ve read and and been told by others it isn’t great. And there is the possibility that this will be of the same quality. Too bad. The special effects in this second Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen look absolutely amazing. These robots are photo-realistic and their designs have complex moving parts. Just look at Bumblebee, there is a multitude of parts on him that all move independently. Very nice. Hats off to ILM. …Continue reading … »

Warner Brothers has finally announced that the Matrix trilogy will finally be made available on Blu-Ray format on October 14, 2008 in the form of the Ultimate Matrix Collection. This set will be priced at $129.95 and include 7 discs.

And strangely, it will contain both Blu-ray and dvd discs.

Warner Brothers did not reveal the specifications of the set, however I’ll report them as they are revealed, so stay tuned.

I saw The Dark Knight on Friday. Great stuff. Great stuff. Great stuff.

This is another excellent film from director Christopher Nolan and company. The story was very intelligent and direction was superb. The stand out performance goes to Heath Ledger but all the actors were “A” quality (of note Aaron Eckhart).

A lot of stuff goes on in the film and I know missed a bit so I’ll be sure to check it out again in the next few days.

And I just read that it made an estimated 155+ million over the weekend. I’m pretty sure it’s broken some record(s).

So The Dark Knight is possibly a history-making film.

That’s great.

It’s good to see a film of this quality making those type of numbers.

But regardless of box office numbers this is simply a excellent movie. If you haven’t seen it yet go check it out. You won’t be sorry.

Today Warner Brothers Studios officially announced the release of the film Blade Runner: Final Cut directed by Sir Ridley Scott. This is a new definitive version of the classic science fiction film Blade Runner. This film will be released to DVD in 3 editions: a 2-disc edition, a 4-disc edition and a 5-disc Ultimate Collector’s edition.

The 2-disc set features a restored and remastered version of the Blade Runner film with added and extended scenes, a 5.1 Dolby Digital audio track, new and improved special effects, added lines, commentaries, and a documentary.

The 4-disc set has all the features of the 2-disc set and adds many others with the most significant being that this includes 3 additional versions of the film (the theatrical version, the international version and the 1992 director’s cut).

The 5-disc set, which comes in a special briefcase, has all the features of the 4-disc set and many additional features with the most notable being a rare workprint of the original film. The workprint is considered to be radically different then all other versions of the film.

The 2-disc, 4-disc, and 5-disc sets are priced at $20.97, $34.99, and $78.92 respectively. The sets will be available for purchase on December 18, 2007. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD versions of the 5-disc set will also be released simultaneously, prices for these versions will be announced later.
