Scientists at the Humanoid Research Center in Korea have created a bipedal walking robot chair called the Hubo FX-1. It can carry a passenger who weighs up to 1ookg or 220lbs. The Hubo FX-1 has built-in gyro/inclination sensors, a 3-axis force/torque sensor and is controlled by the user with a joystick.

I knew that the development of a bipedal robot which could carry a human passenger would come eventually, but its still amazing to watch Hubo operate as the researcher sits on it and controls it. …Continue reading … »

Hilarious. Adding to never ending list of R2-D2 gadgets is this R2-D2 soy dispensing bottle. It appears that you take his head off then pour the soy sauce (or any other liquid ) into his base and then place his head back on. You then tilt him to pour his contents onto your food. I think this is the funniest product license I’ve seen of a star wars character yet. The R2-D2 soy sauce bottle can be purchased here.

Tomy’s i-SOBOT is available at Amazon.com for pre-order. Its priced at $299.99. They will most likely be getting limited quantities therefore orders will be taken on a first come first served basis.

Because this is going to be a very unique item imported from Japan this is a policy I believe most retailers will take. I also anticipate that this robot will sell out fast. You can see Amazon’s i-SOBOT page here.

darthunicron-0.jpg

When I first saw this, for a split second I thought it was a “ultimate universe” Unicron from the transformers. But only for a split second. No this is Darth Vader dude. Darth Vader the transforming Death Star or as he’s aptly titled, the “Hasbro Star Wars Transformer Deluxe Death Star”.

I loved the Transformers and Star Wars as kid. So it is interesting that someone would merge the two worlds together. However this is entirely unexpected. I feel a 1:1 ratio of this is super cool and this is super hilarious.

Regardless, Darth Vader is king. The Hasbro Star Wars Transformer Deluxe Death Star is available for pre-order at the price of $49.99.

Wow we didn’t have toys like this when I was a kid.

Yeah we had the Transformers, Go Bots, Robotech, and Voltron figures, but none of them were radio controlled, transformed by themselves and then were able to move around in their robot form. …Continue reading … »
