Samsung will be producing the i570, a new smartphone. The i570 runs on Symbian 9.1. it is a slider phone which has a faceplate which moves up revealing a QWERTY keyboard beneath.

It has 160 MB of built-in memory and is also equipped with a SD slot which can be used if more memory is needed. The i570 has two cameras one in the front which is for making video calls and another 2-megapixel camera in the back for taking pictures.

Samsung has announced that it has created a 30-inch LCD which incorporates the DisplayPort interface. The display has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and contrast ratio of 1000:1. This announcement makes Samsung the first company to produce a such an LCD. The DisplayPort interface transmits data at a speed of 10.8 Gigabits per second. Samsung has included a very unique feature in its latest HDTV DLP models, that is the ablity to display the video content in 3-D with an optional set of special LCD shutter glasses and pc software. The tvs refresh rate operates at 120 Hz. The glasses display a discrete image in front of the right eye at 60 Hz and a discrete image in front of the left eye at 60 Hz. Samsung has unveiled a 82 inch LCD called the 820DXn in Korea. This massive LCD displays the the Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and has a contrast ratio of 1200:1. It will be released to the Korean market in November.
