I really dig the RCX 4 Star Stryker. But I’ve got to believe that several cease and desist letters are being fedexed as we speak to the company that produces this Star Wars X-wing look-a-like.

The RCX 4 Star Stryker  can be controlled up to a mile away, it flies for ten minutes on a full charge and uses 3D gyroscopic technology to balance while in flight, making hovering a breeze. It is priced at $399.

Was this a case where Lucas and co. nixed the licensing deal at the final hour, then the makers of the RCX said we’ve gone this far so let’s put it on the market and see what happens? Who knows. But if you plan to get the RCX it might be a good idea to purchase it while you can because it may not be around in a few weeks.

See it in action below.

Wow. Can you believe that Avatar has only been out less than one month and has already grossed $491 million domestically and $1.11 billion internationally, bringing its total receipts to over $1.6 Billion? At this pace I believe that it will overtake Titanic’s $1.8 billion box office gross to become the number grossing movie (without-inflation adjustments). I’m guessing that this will be in about three weeks. And when all is said and done I think this film will end its box office gross above 2.1 Billion. Crazy stuff. Anyway it’s good to see a film that is actually great doing amazing numbers. Cheers to Cameron and company.

Last week while watching Avatar in the theater a friend of mine commented on how cool the transparent touchscreens and tablets used in the movie were. I then remembered reading about transparent display concepts in 2009 and thinking we may have such devices soon.

Now as further confirmation that devices like those used in the movie are indeed on there way we need to only look at devices like the laptop with the transparent screen and the Samsung Ice Touch. …Continue reading … »

With the amazing success of the awesome film Avatar - its made over 800 million at the box office so far - there’s a lot of  interest in 3D films for the home theater. So its great that the specifications for Blu-Ray 3D  have been completed by the Blu-Ray Disc Association. …Continue reading … »
